Joseph De Vito is one of Chicago’s top restaurateurs known for his business expertise, leadership and creativity. A native Chicagoan, Joseph comes from a family of restaurateurs and opened his first establishment at age 19, a “burger joint” now known as Busy Burger, a hotspot on Taylor St. Continuing his momentum in the area, Joseph opened the authentic Italian restaurant La Vita, also in Chicago’s Little Italy.
In 2003, he created the Asian infused restaurant Moto, with the now late Chef Homaro Cantu, formally Sous Chef at Charlie Trotter’s, which attracted the attention of The New York Times and Gourmet magazine. He continued his culinary journey with the opening of OTOM in 2007, just two doors down.
Joseph established One 11ven Hospitality Group in 2012, which owns and operates cutting-edge restaurant concepts, with business entrepreneur Josh Carl. They dove into the Gold Coast’s restaurant scene with the launch of their first project, Jellyfish.
